HUNGER: TINUBU’S ECONOMIC REFORMS ARE REDUCING HUNGER, IMPROVING LIVELIHOODS IN THE SOUTH-EAST APC National Vice Chairman

Arodiogbu Highlights Benefits of Import Tariff Cuts, Tax Harmonisation, Exchange Rate Reforms and Other Pro-Growth Policies

The National Vice Chairman (South-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu MBBS Phd, has stated that the people of the South-East are experiencing the positive impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the administration’s policies are helping to reduce hunger, improve livelihoods and create a more favourable environment for commerce and enterprise.

Dr. Arodiogbu said key reforms introduced under the Tinubu administration including the reduction of import tariffs on essential goods, the harmonisation of tax rates, exchange rate reforms, and other pro-business initiatives have begun to deliver tangible economic benefits to the region’s largely entrepreneurial population.

According to the APC South-East leader, these policies are easing the cost of doing business, improving market confidence and creating a more predictable economic environment for traders, manufacturers and investors across the South-East.

“Ndigbo are renowned for their resilience, enterprise and commitment to commerce. President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms are beginning to create the enabling environment our people need to thrive. The reduction of import tariffs has lowered the cost of bringing in goods, the harmonisation of tax rates has simplified compliance for businesses, while exchange rate reforms have improved transparency and stability within the economy,” Dr. Arodiogbu said.

He acknowledged that the reform process initially imposed challenges on Nigerians but maintained that the administration remained focused on implementing measures capable of delivering long-term economic stability and sustainable growth.

Dr. Arodiogbu observed that businesses across the South-East are gradually benefiting from improved access to foreign exchange, a reduction in multiple taxation and policies designed to stimulate investment, production and trade.

He further noted that the Federal Government’s investments in infrastructure, agriculture, security, industrial development and support for local manufacturing are positioning the South-East to become one of the major beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Hunger remains a national concern, but the direction of the economy is changing. The indicators increasingly point towards recovery and renewed opportunities. Rather than politicising every challenge, we should recognise the progress being made and support policies that will strengthen our economy and improve the welfare of Nigerians,” he added.

The APC National Vice Chairman urged the people of the South-East, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue supporting reforms that encourage entrepreneurship, expand employment opportunities, enhance food security and promote inclusive economic growth.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the All Progressives Congress to ensuring that the dividends of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are fully realised across the South-East and the nation as a whole.
