The National Vice Chairman (South-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, earlier today hosted Nigerian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Melvin Ugochukwu, popularly known as the “African Sniper.”

Ugochukwu, a light heavyweight competitor with a professional record that includes notable performances in the African Knockout (AKO) promotion, paid a courtesy visit to the APC leader. The meeting focused on sports development, youth empowerment, and the role of Nigerian athletes in promoting national pride.

Speaking after the reception, Arodiogbu praised the fighter for his dedication and resilience in the cage. He described Ugochukwu as a shining example of Nigerian talent on the international stage and assured him of the party’s support for sports initiatives that create opportunities for young people across the South-East and beyond.

“The African Sniper represents the fighting spirit of our youths,” Arodiogbu said. “We will continue to encourage and celebrate excellence in sports as part of our broader agenda for human capital development under the Renewed Hope administration.”
