The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) South East Co-Coordinator and APC National Vice Chairman South East Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu MBBS, Phd, has issued a strong directive for the immediate and comprehensive strengthening of ward and Local Government Area (LGA) campaign structures across the five South East states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released on Monday, Dr. Arodiogbu stressed that the success of the presidential campaign in the zone will largely depend on the effectiveness, discipline, and operational capacity of structures at the grassroots.
“The strength of any successful political campaign lies in the wards and local governments,” he declared. “I hereby direct all state coordinators, LGA coordinators, ward chairmen, and poll unit agents to immediately strengthen their structures, close existing gaps, and intensify mobilisation at the grassroots. Every ward must be fully activated, every polling unit properly manned, and every community deliberately engaged.”
Dr. Arodiogbu explained that the directive forms part of a deliberate strategy to build a robust, disciplined, and results-oriented campaign machinery capable of converting the growing goodwill for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda into a decisive electoral victory in the South East.
He instructed state campaign committees to carry out urgent and thorough assessments of their ward and LGA structures, identify weak points, and take immediate corrective action.
According to him, regular coordination meetings, accurate documentation, sustained voter education, door-to-door engagement, and proper feedback mechanisms must now become standard practice across the zone.
“Our focus is clear and non-negotiable: strengthen the base, mobilise the people, and deliver victory,” Dr. Arodiogbu stated.
“The South East must speak with one strong and united voice in support of continuity, progress, and the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This can only be achieved through well-organised, highly motivated, and effectively supervised structures at the ward and LGA levels.”
He further directed that special attention be given to the deliberate mobilisation of women, youth, traditional rulers, market men and women, faith-based organisations, professional bodies, artisans, and transport unions within each local government.
Dr. Arodiogbu emphasised that no critical stakeholder group should be left out of the mobilisation process.
The South East Co-Coordinator also called for improved synergy between the zonal structure, state campaign committees, and the various directorates of the APC PCC to ensure that messages, materials, and directives from the national level are effectively cascaded to the grassroots.
Dr. Arodiogbu expressed confidence that with renewed commitment, unity of purpose, and effective coordination, the South East would play a strategic and decisive role in securing a resounding mandate for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in 2027.
He urged all party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states to remain disciplined, focused, and fully committed to the collective goal of advancing the political and developmental interests of Ndigbo through strategic alignment with the centre.
