The APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has commended the remarkable transformation taking place in Nigeria’s education sector under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, describing it as bold, transformative and strategically, the most ambitious education reform agendas in the nation’s history designed to secure Nigeria’s future through quality education, innovation and human capital development.

According to Dr. Arodiogbu, President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has placed education at the centre of national development by expanding access to quality learning, increasing investment in educational infrastructure, strengthening technical and vocational education, enhancing tertiary education financing, promoting digital innovation and increasing opportunities for Nigerian students.

  • Student Loan Scheme Successfully Launched- Millions of Nigerian students now have access to interest-free education loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), removing financial barriers to higher education.
  • Increased Funding for Education- The Federal Government has significantly increased budgetary allocations to the education sector to improve learning outcomes and institutional development.
  • Expansion of Tertiary Institutions – New federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education have been established to widen access to quality tertiary education across the country.
  • Massive Investment in School Infrastructure – Rehabilitation and construction of classrooms, laboratories, hostels, libraries and learning facilities are ongoing nationwide.
  • Strengthening Technical and Vocational Education- Renewed emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) with monthly payments to students in Federal Technical Schools is equipping Nigerian youths with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
  • Improved Welfare for Academic and Non-Academic Staff- The administration has continued engagement with education unions while implementing measures aimed at improving staff welfare and ensuring industrial harmony.
  •  Digital Transformation in Education- Integration of technology into teaching, learning and school administration is preparing Nigerian students for the digital economy.
  • Promotion of Science, Technology and Innovation- Increased support for STEM education, research, innovation and technological advancement in higher institutions.
  • Basic Education Reforms- Strategic interventions are improving access, enrolment and retention at the basic education level through targeted programmes.
