Commends First Lady for Massive Empowerment Initiatives in Imo State
The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), South-East, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her conferment with the prestigious traditional title of Osodieme 1 of Imo State, describing the honour as a fitting recognition of her contributions to the welfare and development of women, youths and vulnerable Nigerians.
Dr. Arodiogbu, in a congratulatory message, said the chieftaincy title bestowed on the First Lady reflects the growing appreciation of her humanitarian interventions, empowerment programmes and commitment to improving the livelihoods of ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, the people of Imo State have demonstrated wisdom in recognising the First Lady’s contributions, particularly her efforts to empower women, support families and create opportunities for young people.
He described Senator Remi Tinubu as a compassionate mother of the nation whose interventions under the Renewed Hope administration have continued to complement the economic and social policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr. Arodiogbu said the Osodieme 1 title is not merely a traditional honour but a reflection of the positive impact the First Lady has continued to make across the country.
“On behalf of the APC South-East leadership, I warmly congratulate our First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on this well-deserved traditional recognition as Osodieme 1 of Imo State.
“This honour is a testimony to the love and appreciation of the people for a woman who has consistently demonstrated compassion, humility and commitment to the empowerment of our people.
“The First Lady has shown that leadership is not only about occupying an office; it is also about touching lives, restoring hope and giving people the tools to become economically independent.”
The APC National Vice Chairman particularly commended the First Lady for her empowerment interventions in Imo State, noting that such programmes have provided tangible support to women, youths, families and small-scale entrepreneurs.
He said the empowerment initiatives demonstrate the commitment of the Renewed Hope administration to ensuring that government policies translate into practical benefits for citizens.
Arodiogbu maintained that empowering citizens with skills, productive assets and economic opportunities remains one of the most effective ways of fighting poverty and strengthening families.
He urged beneficiaries of the First Lady’s programmes to utilise the opportunities responsibly and turn the support received into sustainable businesses and sources of livelihood.
The APC leader further praised Senator Remi Tinubu for placing women and vulnerable groups at the centre of several of her initiatives.
He noted that the First Lady’s approach to empowerment goes beyond financial assistance, stressing that sustainable empowerment requires skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, access to opportunities and support for small businesses.
According to him, the First Lady has increasingly become a symbol of compassion and inclusion within the Renewed Hope administration.
He also commended her for complementing President Tinubu’s economic reforms by focusing attention on the human side of governance.
Dr. Arodiogbu said the South-East remains appreciative of the First Lady’s interventions and expressed confidence that stronger collaboration between the Presidency, state governments and communities would further expand opportunities for women and youths across the region.
He described Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s recognition in Imo as a moment of pride for the South-East, adding that traditional institutions have an important role to play in recognising leaders who contribute meaningfully to society.
The APC National Vice Chairman wished the First Lady continued wisdom, strength and good health as she supports the Renewed Hope agenda and contributes to national development.
He said the Osodieme 1 title would remain a symbol of the warm relationship between the First Lady and the people of Imo State.
