A Solemn Visit to Uburu
The National Vice-Chairman (South-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, on Friday, November 28, 2025, paid a solemn condolence visit to the ancestral home of the Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, in Umunaga, Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The visit followed two painful losses suffered by the family within a short span.
Family Receives Delegation in Grief
Dr. Arodiogbu arrived at the Umahi family compound in the afternoon, where he was warmly received by Engr. Umahi and his elder brother, General Obi Umahi (rtd.), despite the sombre atmosphere. “The passing of the family’s cousin, Mr. Collins Ogbonnaya Njoku, and Mrs. Nweze, wife of Senior Advocate of Nigeria Barrister Roy Umahi Nweze, has deeply shaken the family. Mrs. Nweze’s funeral and interment will hold on Saturday, November 29, 2025.”
Condolence Message and Prayers
Expressing profound sadness, Dr. Arodiogbu described the consecutive losses as “heart-breaking and irreplaceable,” noting that the entire APC South-East zone shares in the family’s grief.
He offered heartfelt prayers for the peaceful repose of both departed souls, asking God to grant them eternal rest and to comfort the family.
Reassurance of Party Support
Dr. Arodiogbu reassured the Minister of Works that the APC family in the South-East remains firmly supportive and will continue to keep the family in prayers during this difficult time.
