APC PCC TO ROLL OUT INTERDENOMINATIONAL PRAYER NETWORK FOR TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION — HON. GLORIA AKOBUNDU

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) Faith Based Directorate (Christians) is set to launch a comprehensive Interdenominational Prayer Network as a strategic platform for mobilising spiritual support towards the peaceful re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

This was disclosed by Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu Phd, fsi, the Secretary, Faith Based Directorate of APC Presidential Campaign Council, a key member of the APC PCC Women Wing and a leading advocate for women empowerment and faith-based political engagement in the South East and across Nigeria.

Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Akobundu stated that the Prayer Network would serve as a structured and inclusive platform bringing together Christian leaders, congregations, interdenominational bodies, and other faith communities across the country to intercede for the success of the APC and the continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The Interdenominational Prayer Network is a deliberate and strategic response to the spiritual dimension of nation-building and electoral victory,” she said.

“We recognise that beyond political structures, media engagements, and grassroots mobilisation, the power of united and sustained prayer remains a critical force in shaping the destiny of our nation. This network will provide a coordinated framework for believers to stand in the gap for President Tinubu, the APC, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

According to her, the network will operate through regular prayer sessions, night vigils, intercessory meetings, fasting programmes, and faith-based outreach activities. It will be coordinated at national, zonal, state, and local government levels to ensure widespread participation and impact.

Hon. Akobundu explained that the initiative would work closely with existing Christian associations, church networks, and community prayer groups. Special attention will be given to mobilising women of faith, youth fellowships, and traditional religious leaders who share a commitment to peaceful and progressive governance.

She emphasised that the Prayer Network is not designed to promote any single denomination but to foster unity among people of faith who believe in the continued progress of Nigeria under the leadership of President Tinubu.

“President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated courage, resilience, and a clear vision for economic recovery, infrastructure development, and national stability,” Hon. Akobundu noted.

“As people of faith, we have a responsibility to intercede for divine wisdom, protection, strength, and success for him and the entire APC family as we approach 2027. Prayer is not a substitute for hard work; it is the foundation upon which effective political engagement must rest.”

She further disclosed that the APC PCC would integrate the Prayer Network into its broader mobilisation strategy, ensuring that spiritual activities complement media engagements, grassroots campaigns, women and youth mobilisation, and stakeholder consultations.

Hon. Akobundu reaffirmed the campaign council’s commitment to peaceful, issue-based, and inclusive mobilisation. She called on religious leaders, church workers, and faithful across the country to key into the network and make intercession a central part of their contribution to national development and democratic consolidation.

Stakeholders within the APC and faith communities have welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and necessary. Many see the Interdenominational Prayer Network as a unique platform that strengthens the moral and spiritual foundation of the party’s 2027 re-election project while promoting unity and national cohesion.

The formal rollout of the network is expected in the coming weeks, with coordination structures to be established across the six geopolitical zones.
