President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his capacity as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has once again reaffirmed his confidence in Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, as Secretary of the Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians) of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
The reaffirmation comes as Apc published the final list of its Presidential Campaign Council while intensifying preparations for the formal inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council scheduled for October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and the official campaign flag-off on October 24 in Kaduna.
Princess Akobundu, a key member of the APC PCC Women Mobilisation Wing has continued to play a strategic role in mobilising Christian communities and women stakeholders in support of the Tinubu-Shettima ticket for the 2027 general elections.
In recent engagements, she has consistently called on the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and its constituent blocs including the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), and TEKAN/ECWA Fellowship as well as the Women Wing of CAN (WOWICAN) and Youth Wing (YOWICAN), to rally behind President Tinubu’s re-election.
She has described the Renewed Hope Agenda as a divinely inspired assignment requiring the prayers, support and active partnership of the Church, while urging Christian women and the broader faith community to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the country, particularly in the South-East.
Sources within the campaign structure note that the President’s continued confidence in Akobundu underscores the importance attached to faith-based and women’s mobilisation as critical pillars of the APC’s 2027 strategy.
Princess Akobundu has repeatedly emphasised that Nigeria is “on the path of renewed greatness” and that continuity under President Tinubu is essential to consolidate the gains already recorded in education financing through NELFUND, social protection, infrastructure development and women empowerment programmes.
As the APC PCC moves into full operational mode, her role as Secretary (Christian) Mobilisation is expected to remain central to engaging faith communities and translating support into votes for the President and the party’s candidates at all levels.
