Owerri, 8 June 2026 – Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, National Vice-Chairman (South East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared that the APC remains the only serious and formidable political party in Nigeria. Dr. Arodiogbu made the assertion in Owerri on Monday while reacting to the ongoing crisis rocking the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) over the conduct of its primaries. He said the NDC’s attempt to replicate the APC’s direct primary system ended in woeful failure due to the absence of proper structure, dedicated membership, and clear focus.

According to him, this lack of foundation has resulted in widespread confusion, finger-pointing, and mutual blame among the party’s leaders and supporters. He noted that the situation has become so dire that the NDC’s vice presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is reportedly threatening to quit the party.

“The APC has demonstrated time and again what a well-structured, member-driven, and focused party looks like,” Dr. Arodiogbu stated. “While others are busy copying our templates without the necessary foundation, we continue to build a party that delivers internal democracy and unity of purpose.”

The APC chieftain commended elected officials and party members, particularly those in the South East, for their dedication and for practically showing how a serious and formidable political party should operate. He expressed strong confidence that the APC is on course to record a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections, describing the party’s growing strength and organisational capacity as unmatched. He urged party faithful across the country to remain focused and committed, saying the APC’s solid foundation positions it as the clear choice for Nigerians seeking good governance and national development.
