WE ARE PROUD OF YOU, LORD MAYOR KATUNG!

A significant milestone was reached on 29th May, 2024, by the present administration, as it was one year since the government of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, began battling tirelessly to return our battered economy to good health and renew the hope of our citizens for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

As the effort to revamp the economy was being redoubled at the home front, out there in the Diaspora, our citizens have equally been working hard in their various callings, breaking new grounds to make us proud as a nation.

Over the weekend, as Mr. President and his ministers were busy in Lagos State commissioning or flagging off projects, and elsewhere in the country reeling out the administration’s numerous achievements in his first one year in office, the president still made out time to celebrate our illustrious sons and daughters making waves abroad.

Noting the efforts of Mr. President, not only in working hard to salvage the economy here at home, but also in encouraging and commending our citizens in the Diaspora who had excelled in their various callings, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is the National Vice Chairman of the party in charge of the South East Zone, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, commended the President.

“I commend our dear President for encouraging our citizens making waves abroad, as he is aware that their successes out there would certainly translate to economic benefits for our nation.
“The knowledge that they enjoy presidential recognition and support, would spur such Nigerians to work even harder and project our nation’s image more positively.

“It is in this light that I join our dear president to celebrate one of our own, Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung who, recently, became the 130th Lord Mayor of the city of Leeds, in England. That was awesome!”

Councillor Katung was sworn in as the first African and the 130th Lord Mayor of Leeds.

Before Katung’s elevation to the high office of the Lord Mayor, the first woman to ever occupy that position was Miss Jessica Beatrice Kitson (1876-1965), from 1942 to 1943.

Speaking further, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu added,

“The cheering news of the achievement of Abigail, a Nigerian Senator”s daughter, should encourage every Nigerian citizen, particularly the girl-children, that with hard work and dedication, the sky is their limit.

“The present administration is paying special attention to the youth, and to young women and children especially, hence a ministry was created for the youth. The education of the girl-child is a priority to the present APC government.

“I therefore urge all citizens of our great country to cease criticising our president.

“Contrary to the thinking of the uninformed, who are misinformed and deceived by the opposition, President Tinubu did not create the economic mess he’d been battling to clear in the last one year. Yet he is winning the economic battle.

“So, let us all rally round and key into the RenewedHope Agenda of the administration towards the goal of a better Nigeria.
