Owerri, May 19, 2026 – The Southeast Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended elected officials and party members across the Southeast region for their cooperation, which ensured a transparent and hitch free National Assembly Primary Elections. Commenting on behalf of the Executive Committee on the peaceful outcome of the Senatorial Primary that was held on Monday, May 18, 2026, the National Vice-Chairman (Southeast) of the party, Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, praised the maturity and commitment displayed by party leaders and members during the exercise.
Dr. Arodiogbu specifically congratulated Imo State Governor and leader of the party in the Southeast, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on his victory and appreciated him for his continuous guidance and support that led to the successful conduct of the National Assembly Primary Elections across the five states of the region. He congratulated all elected House of Representatives and Senatorial aspirants, expressing confidence that they will fly the APC flag successfully in the upcoming general elections.
The APC (Southeast) National Vice-Chairman further disclosed that, according to reports made available to him by the Electoral Committee and election monitors appointed by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, the following aspirants emerged victorious in the APC Senatorial Primary elections held across the five states of the Southeast geopolitical zone: Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North), Hon. Emeka Atuma (Abia Central), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr (Abia South), Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi (Ebonyi North), Engr. Ken Eze (Ebonyi Central), Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani (Ebonyi South), Sen. Hope Uzodimma (Imo West), Sen. Ndubueze Patrick (Imo North), Sen. Alex Mbata (Imo East), Sen. Osita Ngwu (Enugu West), Sen. Kelvin Chukwu (Enugu East), Chief Ikeje Asogwa (Enugu North), Hon. Chibuogu Oraelusi (Anambra South), Dr. Kene Chiedu Ngozi Benedicta (Anambra Central), and Engr. Nelson Onubuogu (Anambra North).
