BASELESS ALLEGATIONS WON’T DETER APC SOUTH EAST’S MARCH FORWARD: RESPONSE TO MISCHIEVOUS CLAIMS AGAINST DR. IJEOMAH ARODIOGBU

We read statements released by two infinitesimal groups that call themselves ‘APC South East Lawyers Forum and Youth Movement for Asiwaju 2027’ and we are only giving this response in line with the transparency principle of the party especially in the South East. The allegations levelled against Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, National Vice Chairman (South East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by these so-called groups are not only baseless but patently mischievous and unfounded.

For the avoidance of doubt, the purported “bombshell” claims of secret collaboration with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to sabotage President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 and to destabilize the APC in the South East are laughable at best. It is not only funny but utterly stupid for anyone to suggest, let alone propagate, that the National Vice Chairman (South East), who has consistently and publicly championed President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, defended its achievements in the region (including enhanced commerce, manufacturing, and security benefiting the South East), and worked tirelessly to strengthen party unity and mobilization ahead of 2027, is somehow working against the very President and party he serves.

The specific accusation regarding the South East’s National Ex Officio Member position in the National Working Committee (NWC) is equally spurious. Forms for party positions closed on Friday, March 13, 2026, with submissions concluding shortly thereafter. Dr. Arodiogbu personally struggled to secure and submit his own form on time, traveling urgently to Owerri via Port Harcourt on the evening of same Friday March 13, 2026, after collection on the same day. He had no contract or obligation to purchase or submit forms for anyone else beyond close Zonal Executive members working directly with him. Suggestions that he should have abandoned his own delayed submission to chase forms for others, when sales had already ceased, are not only inconsiderate but absurd.

A plea was made on this same matter on Saturday night, by which time Dr. Arodiogbu was already in Owerri and the window had closed. If any individual from the South East zone recognized that a position zoned to the zone was at risk of being lost and stepped forward to secure it, that cannot be blamed on the National Vice Chairman. Attempts to frame this as a deliberate shift from Anambra to Imo State in violation of micro-zoning ignore the realities of deadlines, personal efforts, and the absence of any orchestration on his part.

Chief Basil Ejidike, the immediate past Chairman of the APC in Anambra State, should stop this wild goose chase immediately. His repeated attempts to distract and destabilize the party will yield nothing. It is on record that his incompetence and mischief led to poor election results in Anambra State and culminated in the state recording the lowest number of registered APC members in the party’s immediate past e-registration exercise across the South East. This dismal performance and leadership failure made the party members in Anambra decisively reject him in the recently concluded state congress.

None of these distractions, fabrications, or attempts to manufacture crisis will deter the APC in the South East from forging ahead with unity, grassroots mobilization, and unwavering support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. The party remains solidly committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda, equitable representation, and collective progress across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States. We urge all genuine party faithful to focus on building a stronger, more united APC in the region rather than peddling divisive and unsubstantiated narratives. Loyalty to President Tinubu and the party is non-negotiable; let us channel our energies productively toward that goal.

Thank you, and let’s get back to the real work.

Signed:

Chief Austin Onyedebelu
Zonal Publicity Secretary (South-East)
All Progressives Congress
March 22, 2026.
