APC PCC Faith-Based Directorate Targets 30 Million New Christian Votes — Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) Faith-Based Mobilisation Directorate has set a bold target of mobilising 30 million new Christian votes in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

This was made known by Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, fsi Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians) and a key member of the APC PCC Women Mobilisation Wing.

Princess Gloria Akobundu revealed that the target is anchored on an aggressive nationwide strategy that combines spiritual intercession with structured voter education, registration drives, Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection campaigns, and grassroots mobilisation across churches, fellowships, and Christian associations.

“We are deliberately targeting 30 million new Christian votes,” she stated. “This figure represents eligible Christians who have not collected their PVCs, first-time voters, and previously passive members of the faith community. Our goal is to convert spiritual commitment into active democratic participation in support of continuity and national progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

She explained that the Faith Directorate will deploy a multi-layered approach involving church networks, women fellowships, youth groups, and interdenominational platforms. Key instruments of the campaign include the soon-to-be-launched online mobilisation portal, zonal and state prayer walks, coordinated prayer sessions, and intensive voter education programmes.

Hon. Akobundu emphasised that the drive is not about coercion or politicising the pulpit, but about awakening the Christian community to its civic responsibility.

“We are calling on pastors, bishops, church leaders, and Christian associations to encourage their members to collect their PVCs, and vote peacefully,” she said. “The Church has always been a moral force in this nation. In 2027, that moral force must also translate into responsible electoral participation that sustains the reforms and progress already underway.”

She noted that the Directorate is working closely with the five blocs of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), WOWICAN, YOWICAN, and other faith-based organisations to ensure the mobilisation is inclusive, orderly, and impactful across the six geopolitical zones.

Hon. Akobundu expressed confidence that with sustained prayer, effective coordination, and grassroots engagement, the 30 million new Christian votes target is achievable and will contribute significantly to a decisive mandate for President Tinubu and the APC in 2027.
