The National Vice-Chairman (South-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has described the emergence of Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election as a perfect fit for the party and the country.

Dr. Arodiogbu made the remark while addressing newsmen in Abuja on Friday, July 10, 2026, shortly after the unveiling ceremony held at the Continental Hotel, Abuja. He congratulated Vice President Shettima on his selection and stated that the development represents a well-considered decision that strengthens the party’s position ahead of the general election.

The APC South-East National Vice-Chairman attended the event alongside other members of the party’s National Working Committee as well as the party’s governors led by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma. He also used the occasion to congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making the perfect choice in picking his running mate.

Expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, Dr. Arodiogbu said the APC will win the 2027 election comfortably. He linked the party’s strong position to the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda across all parts of the country and the fact that the APC remains the only organised political party that will participate in the election.
