APC South East Congratulates President Tinubu on His Victory in the Party’s Presidential Primary

Abuja, May 24, 2026 – The South East Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his decisive victory in the APC Presidential Primary Election. Speaking on behalf of the Committee in Abuja on Sunday, the party’s National Vice Chairman (South East), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the President’s overwhelming acceptance within the APC and strong endorsement of his Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

“President Tinubu polled 10,999,162 votes to defeat his closest and only rival, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes. This is a testament to his overwhelming acceptance within the party and to the acceptance of the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory,” Dr. Arodiogbu stated.

He added that winning the presidential primary with such massive votes on the platform of the APC, Nigeria’s ruling party and the most organized and largest political party in Africa, further strengthens confidence in the party’s prospects. “By this resounding victory, I am confident that Nigerians will vote for President Tinubu and the APC massively in 2027,” the South East APC National Vice Chairman declared.

Dr. Arodiogbu also extended the appreciation of the South East Executive Committee of the APC to Imo State Governor and leader of the party in the South East, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his continuous support towards strengthening the party in the region. He further appreciated all elected officials and members of the party in the South East for their cooperation, which ensured the smooth conduct of the State Assembly, National Assembly, Governorship, and Presidential Primary Elections in the zone, and reassured them that the leadership would continue to work towards the consolidation of the party’s gains in the South East.
