As over 500 support groups representing millions of Nigerian women voters collapse into APC PCC Women Wing and formally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027
Nigeria is firmly on the path of renewed greatness. This was the emphatic declaration of Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, PhD, FSI, as she threw her full weight behind the vision and leadership of Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, at the APC Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit held on Monday in Abuja.

The high-profile gathering, convened by the First Lady at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, witnessed the formal collapse of over 500 women support groups drawn from across the six geopolitical zones into a unified structure under the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) Women Wing. The groups, which organisers say represent millions of Nigerian women voters, formally endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Speaking to newsmen at the summit, Hon. Akobundu, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Wing and Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians), fully backed the powerful statement delivered by the First Lady.
In her address, Senator Oluremi Tinubu declared that the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 themed “From Reforms to Prosperity” is no longer a slogan but a lived reality. “Our economy is stabilising. Inflation is coming down. Our foreign reserves are growing. Investors are returning to Nigeria. Our farmers are getting more support. Our children in the universities are now able to access student loans through the NELFUND scheme, just to mention a few,” she stated.
The First Lady charged the women to return to their states and communities with a clear message: “Tell everyone as you go back to your various states that you have a leader who is bold enough to take difficult decisions in the beginning. He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity.”
She announced the complete collapse of all independent women support groups including Torch Bearers and others into a single APC structure. “What you will see on the ballot box is APC. We’re here to promote APC, nothing less. From Presidency, governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly, that is what we are here for,” she declared, while outlining plans for six zonal mega rallies culminating in a grand finale in Abuja.
Senator Tinubu also expressed profound gratitude to the women: “Thank you for standing by him, thank you for believing in the Renewed Hope Agenda. Thank you for your determination to vote for Mr President for a second term. Thank you for praying, thank you for not giving up on Nigeria.” She urged them to speak with one voice and vote APC again so that the solid foundation already laid can be built upon.
The high point of the summit was the massive empowerment of a large number of Nigerian women with livelihood items. Beneficiaries received tricycles, sewing machines, refrigerators, agricultural implements and other productive tools designed to boost economic independence and household incomes.
Hon. Gloria Akobundu congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to put the empowerment tools to purposeful use. “These items are not mere gifts; they are instruments of economic liberation,” she said. “I congratulate every woman who has received these tools today. Use them diligently, productively and purposefully so that your families, communities and the nation at large will feel the positive impact.”

Akobundu further called on Nigerian women voters, particularly those in the South-East and across the six geopolitical zones, to stand solidly with the APC. “I urge women voters everywhere to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the consolidation of the good works already set in motion,” she stated. “Nigeria is on the path of renewed greatness. Continuity is essential if we are to complete the transformation that has begun.”
The summit brought together thousands of APC women leaders, including First Ladies of APC-controlled states, state women leaders, faith-based mobilisers and grassroots organisers. It marked a significant step in the party’s women mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, with organisers targeting tens of millions of women’s votes for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
As the women dispersed to their various states, the message from both the First Lady and Hon. Gloria Akobundu remained clear and unified: the foundation has been laid, the path of renewed greatness is open, and Nigerian women must rise to protect and advance it at the ballot box in 2027.
