The National Vice Chairman, South East Zone of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has extolled the achievements of Dr. Pascal Dozie (CON), the banking titan who passed on recently at the age of 86.
The late banking guru had an illustrious career as the founder and Chairman of the defunct Diamond Bank. He was also the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Pan-Atlantic University. Chief Dr. Dozie was also a onetime Chairman of the telecommunications giant, MTN.
In recognition of his services not only to the growth of the banking industry in Nigeria, but also of his enormous contributions to the business sector and the Nigerian economy as a whole, he was conferred with the national merit award of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
In a statement issued through his media office, Dr. Arodiogbu said:
“On behalf of the members of the South East Zonal Executive Committee of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), I join His Excellency, the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Imo state Chapter of the APC and, indeed, the entire Nigerians, to commiserate with the Dozie family and celebrate this illustrious son of Imo state and Nigeria who served our nation to the best of his ability. We celebrate him, not mourn him, because he came, he saw and he certainly conquered in his career path, to the benefit of our people. He was a great man.”
