The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South East geopolitical zone has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. This strong endorsement emerged from the South East Zonal Expanded Executive Meeting held on March 5, 2026, at the party’s zonal office in Enugu, presided over by National Vice Chairman (South East), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu. The meeting gathered newly elected state chairmen from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo, along with other zonal executive members, to discuss party unity, post-congress consolidation, membership expansion, and strategies for electoral dominance in the region.
In a communiqué issued at the conclusion of the harmonious deliberations, the zonal leadership adopted several key resolutions, including: Total and unwavering support for President Tinubu’s re-election as the party’s flag bearer, appreciation for Senator Hope Uzodimma‘s leadership in the zone, with pledges of backing for him, other APC governors, and all elected party officials at various levels. a unified commitment to deliver sweeping victories for the APC in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and state assembly elections across the South East and ongoing efforts to foster deeper unity, enhance internal cohesion, grow the party’s base, and secure stronger electoral outcomes in the zone.
The communiqué also thanked participants for their dedication and urged all party members to stay committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration while advancing the party’s goals.
Signed by Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu and the five state chairmen; Senator Emma Anosike (Anambra), Chief Austin Onyedebelu (Imo), Hon. Chijioke Chukwu (Abia), Dr. Martin Chukwunweike (Enugu), and Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha (Ebonyi), the statement reflects the zone’s consolidated push for President Tinubu amid nationwide APC preparations following the 2026 congresses.
This latest reaffirmation aligns with broader endorsements from other APC chapters and comes as the party gears up for the elections now slated for early 2027.
