HISTORIC IZU ỤMỤNNE: CHAMPIONING SOUTHEAST’S BOLD ALIGNMENT WITH PRESIDENT TINUBU ON NATIONAL TV

Yesterday, I appeared on TVC and Arise TV to shed more light on the profound significance and numerous benefits of the Izu Ụmụnne Political Gathering, organized by South East Leaders of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Enugu on Saturday, January 10, 2026. This landmark event brought together Southeast APC stakeholders, governors, lawmakers, elders and critical leaders in a family-style consultation to review the region’s political journey and chart a forward path.

The gathering culminated in a unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate for re-election in 2027, marking a historic paradigm shift for the All Progressives Congress in the Southeast. Leaders, including Governors Hope Uzodimma, Peter Mbah, and Francis Nwifuru, emphasized that aligning with the federal government under President Tinubu offers the Igbo nation its best opportunity for political relevance, sustained development, and reciprocity. They highlighted tangible gains, such as deliberate efforts to bridge long-standing infrastructure deficits, including energy projects, road networks, and the concession of Enugu Airport, positioning the region as a gateway.

The endorsement reflects growing pragmatism over past protest politics, with praise for the administration’s enabling environment for commerce, manufacturing, agriculture, and improved security. It signals unity, forgiveness among leaders, and a commitment to massive mobilization for unprecedented voter turnout in 2027, promising that the Southeast will deliver bloc votes to reward the Renewed Hope Agenda. This move strengthens national cohesion by rejecting isolation and embracing partnership for mutual progress and long-term national strength.
